The FBI has arrested three officers in relation to the raid and murder of Breonna Taylor. Current and former Louisville Metro Police officers are among the three arrested. Joshua Jaynes, Brett Hankison and Sgt. Kyle Meany were taken into custody this Thursday morning. A charge was made against Detective Kelly Hanna Goodlett but no arrest was achieved.
The United States Department of Justice confirmed the charges, including “conspiracy” for “violating Taylor’s Fourth Amendment rights by drafting and submitting a false affidavit, which was used to secure a search warrant for Taylor’s residence in a drug-related investigation.” The charges also include allegations of falsifying information and then attempting to cover their tracks afterward.
However, no officers have been directly charged with her death. On the other hand, the officer who shot her, Myles Cosgrove, was fired nine months after the raid.
