Food is something that connects us all, which is why when restaurants across Toronto took a hit due to the pandemic, the City knew they had to do something about it.
Behold, the launch of a brand new program called DineTOgether, where residents can show love to their favourite eateries in the city in the one way they know best — through devouring their tasty, fresh and local food!
DineTOgether is an extension of the city’s local initiative ShowLoveTO, which was created to encourage local tourism, foster community engagement and ignite economic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.
DineTOgether takes things another eager bite forward.
“Toronto’s food and hospitality industry has been one of the hardest hit sectors during the COVID-19 pandemic. I’m thrilled that we can offer DineTOgether to support local restaurateurs by encouraging residents to enjoy a delicious feature menu by takeout, delivery, on the patio or inside,” Mayor John Tory said in a press release.
This program helps local eateries get back on their feet while customers across the city can indulge in their favourite dishes.
Between Friday, Sept. 17 to Sunday, Oct. 3, patrons can order delicious feature items from various restaurants across the 6ix, with options for takeout, delivery, patio dining and/or indoor dining available.
Prices for entrees are fixed by each participating restaurant, and will be between $15-50 dollars per person for one main and one appetizer/dessert. Prices are excluding drinks and tips.
A list of participating restaurants will be announced later on in September, but if there is a restaurant you’d love to see take part in the program, be sure to let them know as soon as possible as registration for the program ends on August 31.
