On The Rise: Lone$um Reflects On The Dark Times Behind Bars On His Intense New Banger And Music Video For ‘Locked Up’

Lone$um is a Toronto-based artist that has been writing music to express himself for the last several years.

It was only recently that he made the decision to hit the studio and record his raps. Since coming home, the people around him helped him realize that there were people out there that really supported what he wanted to do.

Although most of his music was only released this year, he has already collected an impressive amount of streams. It is highly likely that the years of writing behind the scenes have worked in his favour. Even though he’s early in his career, his fans now get to hear high-quality music right away.

The artist’s newest song is titled “Locked Up,” and it was released a week ago. However, he just released an official music video on the 6ixBuzz Premieres YouTube page.

The new song starts off with a choppy, percussion-like piano loop. Then listeners get to hear the running drums next. As soon as the song starts, you know exactly what you’re in for.

Throughout the song, Lone$um raps about his time behind bars. He vents about how tough everything was, but also lyrically takes us through everything he went through. His ability to write and deliver lyrics that create such explicit imagery is intense.

A week after releasing the song on streaming platforms, the team put out an official music video. The video flips between solo shots of the artist, in and out of prison, while depicting the artist in a police stop. The video was directed by Mr. Greatness, who is also the CEO of the Only Greatness Productions.
