Da Crook has been a staple in the Toronto music scene since he first began releasing music officially in 2017.
He came in with an undeniable energy and lyrical ability that made him a fan-favourite artist. Over the last few years, his focus has been on developing his full sound and becoming a well-rounded artist. On his brand new song “Talk Facts” he makes his progress clear by rapping over a beat that samples Gotye’s hit single “Somebody That I Used To Know.”
The artist came into the Toronto scene with a clear confidence in himself and a real point to prove. He was actively releasing hit after hit which gained him a strong local following. He then took some time to really plan and focus on what he wanted to do with his career.
In 2021, he came back stronger than ever and returned to the level of consistency that fans know and love. His latest release, “Talk Facts” is just the latest in his already impressive catalogue of singles and music videos.
As mentioned, the new single features an incredibly unique sample running throughout the song. Producer Elvis Beatz combines the background vocals of Gotye’s “Somebody That I Used To Know” with hard, buzzing drill production.
Clearly, the production left Da Crook inspired because over the course of the two-minute song he does what he does best; raps with an intensity and skill that he’s been working at perfecting over the last several years.
The music video, taken care of by Charlton Visuals, is a simple high-energy shoot that features a dripped-out Da Crook dancing and rapping amongst his team and friends.
The song is yet to be released on streaming platforms, but you can check out the trending music video below or on YouTube.
