Canadian Buzz: DVSN and Ty Dolla $ign ‘Cheers to the Best Memories’ On New Collab Album Which Features YG, Mac Miller & Rauw Alejandro

In July, DVSN surprised their fans with the Mac Miller and Ty Dolla $ign collaboration titled “I Believed It.” Now, a few weeks later, they have dropped their full Ty Dolla $ign collaborative mixtape, titled Cheers to the Best Memories.

Last year, DVSN and Ty Dolla both released full-length projects. DVSN dropped their 2020 album, A Muse In Her Feelings, in April. Then, an additional four songs were added to the deluxe that they dropped in January 2021. In between though, they did a collection of drive-in concerts at Toronto’s Polson Pier.

Ty Dolla dropped his full-length project, Featuring Ty Dolla $ign, in October of 2020, and of course, has kept himself busy since.

For two artists of this stature to find the time to make something like this is definitely special. Many R&B fans believe that DVSN has never put out bad music. The new album, Cheers to the Best Memories, strengthens that argument.

On the Wednesday before the album’s release, the supergroup dropped a music video for “Memories.” That song would end up being the second single and the intro to the album.

The first single, “I Believed It“, ended up being the album’s outro. The remaining nine songs that make up the album were brand new to listeners.

As with much of DVSN’s work, one-half of the duo, Nineteen85 takes care of a majority of the production. However, a few other producers were involved in this album’s creation. All of them, though, do a great job coming into the world and supporting what DVSN has helped create over the last few years.

Throughout the album, the production is smooth, but there is still diversity in tempos and emotion. Songs like “Don’t Say A Word” are slower and feel more sensual. Others, like “Somebody That You Don’t Know,” featuring Latin superstar Rauw Alejandro are more upbeat and clubby.

The album in its entirety runs for 32 minutes and is a refreshing listen for R&B heads around the globe.
