BREAKING: Ontario Is Moving Up Second Dose Appointments For Hotspots In These Regions

In Thursday’s press conferece, Ontario’s Health Minister Christine Elliot announced changes to second dose rebooking priority.

Before this announcement, only people, 70 and up or people who got their vaccine before April 18 were able to rebook their second dose appointment.

Now anyone living in one of seven selected hotspots who got their vaccine before or on May 9 will be able to rebook their second dose appointment starting Monday, June 14 at 8 a.m.

The seven Public Health Units that will be opening up rebooking are the following:

  • Toronto
  • York Region
  • Peel Region
  • Halton Region
  • Porcupine
  • Waterloo
  • Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph

These areas have been identified as Delta Hot Spot Regions. This is due to cases of the Delta Variant of COVID-19 being found in those regions.

This will help to increase the number of people who are fully vaccinated, which is a requirement for both Stage 2 and Stage 3 of Ontario’s reopening.
