Baldwin took to social media to share his condolences to the families that were affected by the incident.

“There are no words to convey my shock and sadness regarding the tragic accident that took the life of Halyna Hutchins, a wife, mother and deeply admired colleague of ours,” Baldwin said on Twitter.

According to local media, Baldwin was seen crying outside of the sheriff’s office when the incident had happened.

Currently, police are investigating and trying to determine what type of projectile was left in the prop gun.

No charges have been filed.

Hutchins was named a “rising star” by the American Cinematographer magazine in 2019. A statement by the International Cinematographer’s Guild said that her death was “devastating news” and a “terrible loss.”

In 1993, Bruce Lee’s son, Brandon Lee, was shot and killed with a prop gun on the set for “The Crow”. The gun apparently had a dummy round loaded in it.

Still, shootings on set are said to be very rare in Hollywood.
