A Police Wellness Check On A 76-Year-Old Man From Vancouver Lead To Recovering 174 Guns From World War II

A routine wellness check turned into police in Vancouver recovering 174 guns from a senior’s home.

But these aren’t just any guns, in fact, they are said to be from World War II.

A police officer and staff from Vancouver Coastal Health were responding to a mental health call to a home in Vancouver’s West Side close to West 15th Avenue and Granville Street.

Police showed up at the home of a 76-year-old man who was in mental and physical distress. Due to this assessment, the man was taken to the hospital and placed in urgent care.

As the police searched his house they found his firearms which they determined most were all from WWII World War they told City News.

In a statement, the VPD said that all the guns were “all seized as they were not stored safely.”
