Tragic Stoney Creek Incident: Landlord-Tenant Conflict Takes a Deadly Turn

On Saturday night, a tragic incident unfolded at 322 Jones Road in Hamilton, Canada, when a 57-year-old landlord barricaded himself inside the residence with multiple firearms.

The alleged dispute between the landlord and the couple renting the basement of his home quickly escalated to violence. Witnesses reported seeing the couple trying to escape from the house but were fatally shot outside.

Hamilton police responded to the scene and deployed their Emergency Response Unit to resolve the situation peacefully. However, after hours of negotiations, at around 10 PM, there was an exchange of gunfire between the man and a police officer that resulted in the man's death.

The Special Investigations Unit (SIU) has since been appointed to investigate his death.

Sandra Chaisson, a resident in the area for more than four decades, identified him as Terry Bourassa, who had lived in the house for over 20 years. Neighbours remember him as "very quiet" and say that this incident seemed out of character for him.

The tragedy has left many stunned as people still struggle to understand how such an agreement could lead to such a violent outcome. Many questions remain unanswered as the SIU continues to investigate.
