EXCLUSIVE: This Toronto Rooftop Added A Crazy Jerk Spice Flavoured Cocktail To The Menu And Other Jamaican-Inspired Drinks You Have To Try

This well-known rooftop in Toronto knows the obsession with diverse cuisines is major in the 6ix, so they recently whipped up some new tropical-inspired drinks that are sure to transport you back to the tropics.

Chez Lavelle has adopted the help of a new mixologist to create a «year-long» summer cocktail collection with surprisingly rare flavours.

New on the menu is the Jerk Banana Bourbon drink, which consists of house-made jerk spice, banana liquor, sugar bourbon and black volcanic salt. This drink is bitter with a hint of banana and a slight kick from the jerk spice.

The team at Lavelle was given the opportunity to remake a whole new drink menu for the famous Toronto rooftop.

«We wanted something unique that people in Toronto would really like», said the culinary team at Lavelle.

With this new revelation, this international mixologist who's worked in over 7 different countries, also invented another new drink that consists of peanut punch.

The Espresso peanut-ini is a martini-style cocktail that uses vodka, vanilla espresso and peanut punch. It is also topped with caramel garnish and marshmallows.

The drink has a strong peanut flavour which balances out the vanilla espresso, putting a creative twist on the punch and popular espresso martini, making it the first of its kind.

One server at the restaurant says the drinks have been a hit so far.

«I think people are excited to see items that are so popular in Toronto, finally make their way into our menu. And I know everyone here in Toronto loves globally inspired foods, it's a staple here,» said Rhyleigh Thoms, a server at Chez Lavelle.

The restaurant also serves soft-shell Jerk chicken tacos to pair with the new cocktails. The tacos consist of coconut coleslaw, pineapple pico de Gallo and mango scotch bonnet puree.

Would you try these fancy drinks or pass?
