Daytime robbery at Pacific Mall turns into a scene of chaos and panic with shots fired

On Thursday afternoon, shoppers at Pacific Mall in Markham were shocked when a robbery occurred. Police reported that shots were fired during the incident, prompting a lockdown of the popular shopping centre.

According to witnesses, the robbery happened around 3:40 pm, and police arrived shortly after, with social media posts warning people to stay away from the mall.

One person on Reddit reported their partner working at the mall, saying that it was a jewellery store that had been targeted. People were told to evacuate by 4:25 pm.

Videos taken inside the mall showed multiple officers storming through with guns drawn, yelling for people to leave immediately. It has been confirmed that more than one suspect was involved, and luckily there were no reported injuries during this terrifying incident.

York Regional Police are investigating the robbery but have yet to make any further statements about what happened or if any suspects have been arrested.
