27 Migrants Including Children And Pregnant Women Died When Their Boat Sank At Sea Between The South Of England And North Of France

Children and pregnant women are among the dead in what is being called the deadliest migration accident on the English Channel.

According to French authorities on Thursday, between 27-31 migrants and refugees lost their lives when their small boat sank in the Atlantic Ocean when trying to cross the English Channel, also known as the sea that separates southern England from northern France.

Additionally, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) says that 200 refugees and migrants have died on this route so far in 2021.

It is reported that seventeen men, seven women and three children died.

As of now, two survivors are in hospital recovering from hypothermia.

Five suspected smugglers have been apprehended by police.
